Nick’s is a contemporary Italian kitchen where the decor is snazzy, the service is first-class and the food is grilled just the way you like it. Located close to Great Western Road, Nick’s serves Italian with flair, aplomb and every other superlative you may care to throw at it. The Hyndland restaurant specialises in familiar Italian fare, but delivered to a higher standard than its peers. Everything, from the quality of the ingredients to the presentation, is top-notch and characterised by meticulous attention-to-detail. The restaurant exudes a chic vibe that is part Manhattan loft space, part high-end restaurant. In addition to the spacious main dining area, a stylish mezzanine forms the perfect spot for couples desiring a little more seclusion while they eat. Cast your eyes over the menu and your attention will be drawn to the preponderance of meat: burgers, steaks and chops are well represented, with a plentiful fusion of Italian-American favourites. Anyone can make a burger, but Nick’s are the bomb: juicy, gargantuan and loaded with moreish extras. One bite and you’ll be converted. The pizza and pasta are excellent, as you’d expect, but there’s also room for more adventurous offerings. Swordfish with black olives in arrabiata sauce, anyone? The starters weave a similar line between the familiar and the startlingly fresh. If you want minestrone, you can have minestrone, but if you’d prefer West Coast mussels in tomato broth or fried squid with fennel salad, it’s yours to enjoy. Whether you’re a diehard connoisseur of Italian cuisine or simply a gourmand who appreciates good food, Nick’s is well worth a visit. You’ve tasted pasta, but you’ve never tasted pasta like this before. You’ve tasted pizza, but...yeah, you get the idea. Italian food made better? I've been to nicks a few times now but this is the first time I've written a review on it, went along Friday tea time , had reserved a table, had a lovely three course , choosing from different menus, mainly the early evening menu , al l carter and the days specials menu, plenty of choices on each of them , all of us thoroughly enjoyed our food, , afterwards moved down to the bar for couple of drinks, although it was busy we managed to get a table. Nicks is a very popular bar and it's easy to see why, kept very clean and tidy, staff are very good and friendly, and as I say the food is superb, always enjoy coming here and it's s winner for me every time.
